2020 (H247) Mercedes-Benz GLA Launched – 2 Variants, From RM252k

The 2020 all-new Mercedes-Benz GLA has finally been launched in Malaysia. 

First unveiled at the tail-end of last year, the entry-level model of the Mercedes SUV range mpw offers more space – now more than 100mm taller than its predecessor, while being consummately more connected with the company’s MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system and the latest generation of Mercedes Me connect suite of functions.

The GLA has introduced at the outset with two variants – the GLA 200 Progressive Line and GLA 250 AMG Line priced as follows:

• GLA 200 Progressive Line: RM252,888 (RM244,192 with SST Exemptions)

• GLA 250 AMG Line: RM295,888 (RM285,336 with SST Exemptions)

The GLA200 is powered by a 1.33-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which is mated to a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. It develops 163 hp and a maximum torque of 250 Nm, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds.

The GLA 250 on the other hand, by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 224hp and 350 Nm. The engine is paired to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic giving the GLA 250 a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 6.9 seconds, and a top speed of 250 km/h.

On the inside, the instrument panel features optical "cut-outs" in the driver and front passenger area. The cut-out on the driver’s side is dominated by the free-standing display unit, which is made up of two 10.25-inch displays screens making up a larger unit that covers all the cars information and connectivity needs.

The latest generation of the Mercedes Me connect is also a feature that comes as standard in the GLA. Also featured in both models is the MBUX infotainment system (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) suite of connectivity feature which includes the “Hey Mercedes” voice-activated functions.

The Mercedes-Benz GLA goes on sale today and is also available with Mercedes-Benz Agility Financing starting at RM2,388 per month for the GLA 200 and RM2,788 per month for the GLA 250.
