2019 Toyota C-HR Gets Updated Styling, Better Infotainment, Optional TRD Aerokit
Auto NewsThe already snazzy looking Toyota C-HR has received a suite of styling and connectivity updates for the 2019 model year, as well as an optional TRD Aerokit for an extra dose of exclusivity.
To differentiate the 2019 model, the C-HR gets newly designed 17-inch ‘dual-tone’ lightweight alloy rims as well as some cosmetic changes: new garnish strips on the front and rear bumpers, and the addition of body mouldings along the flanks.
The TRD Aerokit adds extensions to the front and rear bumpers with a metallic finish and overfenders around the wheel arches for a more aggressive appearance. The TRD Aerokit, just like the rest of the vehicle, is imported CBU (completely built-up) from Toyota’s regional production hub in Thailand. Installation is done by professionals at UMW Toyota Motor’s own facility and the parts are covered by a warranty. There are currently no plans to offer the TRD Aerokit to existing C-HR owners.
Inside, for an improved user experience, the infotainment system has been upgraded with a new one that has a 6.75-inch display touchscreen as well as Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity. The infotainment system also includes a voice recognition function.
There are no changes to the powertrain: under the hood is Toyota’s 2ZR-FBE 1.8-litre inline-four which produces a maximum power of 140 PS and 171 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a CVT type automatic transmission with seven stepped gear ratios.
One new exterior colour is offered for the 2019 model – Radiant Green Metallic, complementing the existing 5 exterior colour options. As before, certain colours are contrasted with a black roof colour.
Order books are open: there are no changes in retail prices which start from RM150,000 for private registration. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in February 2019.
