2018 MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports CKD Launched, From RM245,888

Right after unveiling the first locally-assembled MINI Countryman Plug-In Hybrid, MINI Malaysia introduced the new MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports, priced from RM245,888.

The new locally-assembled MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports places Malaysia on the map as the first market in the world to locally assemble the new MINI Countryman.  

Kidd Yam, head of MINI Malaysia, also revealed that the company have already delivered over 200 units of the new Countryman range since its introduction almost a year ago.

The new MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports is fitted with the John Cooper Works Package, which consists of a front bumper that feature brake cooling ducts, a rear bumper with diffuser and door sill finishers. Completing the Sports look are sports suspension combined with 19-inch wheels in MINI John Cooper Works Course Spoke design.

No changes to the Cooper S powertrain, with the 2.0-litre MINI TwinPower Turbo engine coupled to an 8-speed conventional automatic transmission driving the front wheels. Outputs are 192 hp and 280 Nm of torque, accelerating the vehicle from rest to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds.

Stepping inside, the new MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports differs from the now-discontinued fully imported non-Sports variant by offering, for the first-time ever, an 8.8-inch touch screen Display with split-view function and navigation. Music is now played through the Harman Kardon 'hi-fi loudspeaker' system, featuring 360-watt output through 12 high performance speakers.

A head-up display is also fitted as standard.

The new MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports also comes with Park Assist, which automates parallel parking by taking control of the steering operation. All the driver has to do is control the accelerator and brake.

The new locally-assembled MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports is available in a variety of dual-colour schemes. Black roof is applied to Chili Red, British Racing Green, Thunder Grey, and Light White. Buyers who prefer a white roof scheme can only pair it with either Chili Red or British Racing Green.   

Similar to the existing MINI range, the new MINI Cooper S Countryman Sports is backed by MINI Malaysia’s 4 years unlimited mileage warranty that includes free scheduled service as well as a 5-Year Roadside Assistance programme.
