2018 Mazda CX-3 Facelift Previewed Ahead Of Local Debut
Auto NewsA couple of days ago, we reported that the outgoing Mazda CX-3 has been sold out, indicating that the facelift model will be introduced here soon.
Ahead of the updated Mazda CX-3’s launch, Bermaz Motor has previewed the upcoming Mazda CX-3 facelift, which was launched in Japan back in May.
Outside, the updated Mazda CX-3 receives a revised front grille, front fog lamps, LED tail lights, and alloy wheels. Similar to the all-new CX-5, the facelifted CX-3 can now be had in Mazda's latest Soul Red Crystal body paint.
As for the interior, the mechanical parking brake is now gone, replaced by an electric button-operated unit. The removal of the mechanical parking brake allowed Mazda to fit a centre console box and a centre armrest. Elsewhere, the red accents that was present on the dashboard and door trim have been replaced with regular black trim, while the air-conditioning vents now have red accents. The sunroof that was previously fitted to the pre-facelift model has also been omitted.
The Mazda CX-3’s SkyActiv-G 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine remains identical to the outgoing CX-3, producing 154 hp and 204 Nm. The sole transmission offered is a 6-speed automatic.
Under the sheet metal, the facelifted Mazda CX-3 has adopted improvements from the SkyActiv Vehicle Architecture, resulting in a more rigid body for better handling and quieter ride.
In terms of safety, the facelifted Mazda CX-3 now adds Walk Away Lock, Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). Other safety equipments include:
- Six airbags
- ABS with Brake Assist and EBD
- Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
- Emergency Stop Signal (ESS)
- Hill Launch Assist (HLA)
- ISOFIX anchor points
The updated Mazda CX-3 carries an estimated price of RM121,134.00, on the road without insurance.
