2017 Maserati Levante Officially Introduced In Malaysia – From RM888,800
Auto NewsNaza Italia the official importer and distributor for Maserati in Malaysia, has formally introduced the luxury SUV for the Malaysian market with a starting price from RM888,800.
The name Levante takes inspiration from a warm Mediterranean wind and leverages heavily on Maserati’s heritage of ageless design, rich heritage, and sporting character. The Levante SUV was first previewed in Malaysia in August 2016.
The Levante is based on the evolution of Maserati’s ‘Giorgio’ sedan platform, which also underpins other Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) models, such as the Ghibli and excessively teased, Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV.
The Levante is powered by the latest range of the Maserati’s 3.0-litre V6 engines diesel and petrol engines. The Malaysian market receives turbodiesel version, for now, equipped with reduced ‘dwell time’ injectors, capable of 275hp and a whopping 600Nm of torque.
Maserati claim, the Levante Diesel ‘275hp’ will accelerate to 100km/h from standstill in 6.9 seconds all the way to a top speed of 230 km/h, while still managing frugal fuel economy numbers, as low as 7.2 litres/100 km. The Levante adopts the eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox with four selectable drive modes.
The Levante offers as standard, the company’s air-suspension, “Skyhook” shock absorbers and Q4 all-wheel drive system. Three customisation packages are offered at the outset; Sport and Luxury and Zegna Edition.
The Sport Package includes exterior and interior design elements that reflect Maserati's racing heritage while the Luxury Pack promises even greater luxurious appointments on the inside and outside of the car. The most exclusive, Zegna Edition pack combines premium Italian leather with bespoke silk from Ermenegildo Zegna, made in Trivero, Italy by the Zegna wool mill with a patented process.
The Levante Diesel includes 3-year ‘Standard Warranty’ coverage with no mileage restriction plus a Maserati Premium Service Plus package, of 3 years/60,000 km whichever comes first.
