2017 All-New Honda CR-V, Expect Increase In Price

The all-new 2017 Honda CR-V is expected to arrive in Indonesia real soon, as Indonesian registration prices have surfaced.

A total of three variants are expected to launch in Indonesia, a lone 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine and two variants of the 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo. Both engines are mated to Honda's Earth Dreams Technology CVT-type automatic. 

Below are the outgoing models' registration prices :

• CR-V 2.0 2WD MT - IDR 309 million
• CR-V 2.0 2WD AT - IDR 317 million
• CR-V 2.4 2WD AT - IDR 343 million
• CR-V 2.4 2WD AT Prestige - IDR 373 million

In comparison, below are the new 2017 Honda CR-V's prices:

• CR-V 2.0 CVT - IDR 329 million
• CR-V 1.5 TC CVT - IDR 361 million
• CR-V 1.5 TC CVT Prestige - IDR 399 million

Based on the price, we can see that prices in Indonesia could see an increase of up to 7% over the outgoing model. The outgoing model retails for IDR 373 million, whilst the all-new model is expected to retail for IDR 399 million. Apart from that, the prices mentioned are also devoid of Indonesia's on-the-road costs, which could add another IDR 128 million on top of that price.

Though the price jump is significant, Honda Indonesia is expected to introduce Honda Sensing to the all-new CR-V, which includes Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. On top of that, the Indonesia-assembled units are also expected to receive electronic parking brake, replacing the traditional foot-operated brake. The fancy button-type gear selector won't find its way to Indonesian buyers, as that is exclusive to the diesel-powered CR-V.

As for us, the 2017 Honda CR-V is expected to arrive some time this year. Prices are unknown at this point of time, but we believe Honda Malaysia could apply EEV incentives for the upcoming model, which hopefully can soften the price gap.
