Home News Auto News 2016 Range Rover Evoque: LED Headlamps, All-Terrain Progress Control 2016 Range Rover Evoque: LED Headlamps, All-Terrain Progress Control Auto News Gerard | February 23, 2015 11:06 am Land Rover has updated its Range Rover Evoque for 2016 by introducing a slew of new design features as well as technologies. The updated model will make its world debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show next month.Exterior DesignFrom the outside, the 2016 Range Rover Evoque largely resembles the previous model and is still available in both coupe and five-door body styles. However, a new front bumper that comes with two new grille designs now feature enlarged lower air intakes, which also house new slimline LED fog lamps.Other exterior changes include bonnet vents, a new tailgate spoiler, roof fins, and slimmer LED brake lights. Additionally, three new alloy wheel designs are available as well, ranging from 17- to 20-inch sizes. The most noticeable out of all these visual introductions are the full-LED adaptive headlights, a first for any Land Rover model.The headlights react to steering input to light up the curves in the road while cornering and is integrated with daytime-running lights (DRLs).Interior DesignChanges inside the cabin include new seats and door casings, along with a redesigned instrument cluster. The new seats are available in two designs, each with three different materials to choose from as well as four levels of adjustment, up to 14-way electric memory seats with four-way lumbar support and fully adjustable bolsters.Soft-touch materials and a variety of colour combinations for other parts of the interior trim make up the rest of the Evoque’s interior.PowertrainEngine options for the new Evoque come in the form of petrol or diesel units where the former is a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine (240 PS, 340 Nm) paired to a ZF nine-speed automatic transmission which delivers power to the ground via a four-wheel drive system. Stop-start fuel-saving technology is present here too.The latter is Jaguar Land Rover’s new EU6 emissions compliant Ingenium turbodiesel engines, which will also make its debut on the Jaguar XE in the future. Two choices of the Ingenium four-cylinder turbocharged are available, the first being the eD4, offering 150 PS and 430 Nm whereas the TD4 offers 180 PS and 430 Nm. These turbodiesel engines can be paired with either a nine-speed auto or six-speed manual and is available with two or four-wheel drive options.All-Terrain Progress Control Land Rover’s All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) also makes its debut here. The technology maintains a pre-determined speed to creep the vehicle either forward or in reverse up to 30 km/h, allowing the driver to focus on navigating the off-road terrain.
