2016 Porsche Macan GTS Unveiled. Priced at RM710,000

Alongside the new 911 Carrera, Sime Darby Auto Performance, the authorised distributor of Porsche vehicles in Malaysia also took the sheets off the Macan GTS earlier today at the brand’s outlet in Sungai Besi.

Priced at RM710,000 (OTR without insurance), the Macan GTS is positioned between the Macan S and the Macan Turbo, and comes fitted with a tweaked version of the Macan S’ 3.0L V6 bi-turbo engine, which is paired to a 7-speed dual clutch PDK transmission.

Thanks to the powertrain package, the Macan GTS produces 360hp and 500Nm of torque, which is 20hp more than the Macan S, and claims to be able to sprint from standstill to 100km/h in 5 seconds.

Compared to the base Macan, the GTS variant is 15mm lower, and features a sportier version of the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) chassis, as well as 360mm brake discs which are similar to the ones on the Macan Turbo.

On the exterior, highlights include 20-inch matte black RS Spyder alloy wheels, black accents, a full-sounding sports exhaust system, and the Sport Design package in GTS-specific colouring. Also available as an option is Porsche’s Dynamic LED headlamps.

Inside, the Macan GTS comes with sports seats, generous dose of Alcantara leather, carbon fibre and body-coloured accents, rear air cond vents, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system, a seven-inch touchscreen display, and Apple’s CarPlay system.

SDAP said that the Macan GTS is offered with a four-year free service, parts and maintenance warranty package.
