2016 Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176) – A 250 Motorsport Edition at RM257k, limited units

The recently-facelifted Mercedes-Benz A-Class receives a new variant, the A 250 Motorsport Edition, a limited edition special created to commemorate the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team’s successes last year.

Sporting unique design touches that give nod to Petronas’ role as its F1 partner, the A 250 Motorsport is priced on-the-road excluding insurance at RM256,888, a premium of RM18k over the regular A 250 Sport.

Available in four colours – cirrus white, cosmos black, polar silver, and mountain grey – the A 250 Motorsport Edition can be identified by its distinctive petrol green highlights at the following areas:

• front and rear bumper trim
• AMG rear aerofoil
• rim flanges
• side mirrors
• air vent surrounds
• contrast stitching at dashboard, floor mates, armrest, and door card
• seat upholstery

Much of its equipment levels are identical to the regular A 250 Sport with the following items added on:

• Rims upsized from 18 to 19 inches
• Upholstery from Dinamica/Artico black to Leather/Dinamica microfibre
• Night package

A huge success among customers, the W176 Mercedes-Benz A-Class is currently available in four variants in Malaysia. Powered by a 211hp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, the A 250 is second in the hierarchy to the Mercedes-AMG A 45 4Matic, and below it are the A 180 and A 200 variants, both of which are powered by 1.6-litre mills producing 122hp and 156hp respectively.
