So the car seen here is officially known as Mercedes-AMG C63 S.‘63’ Doesn’t Mean 63As before, the ‘63’ in the previous generation C63 doesn’t mean 63, but the distance between its implied meaning and the car’s engine size is now even further than before. The previous generation C63 had a 6.2-litre normally aspirated V8 that pushes out 457 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This latest model that’s based on the W205 generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class has dropped the previous model’s brutish big lungs V8 for a smaller 4.0-litre biturbo V8.Vital numbersPower output is 510 hp, sustained from 5,500 rpm to 6,250 rpm. Pushing you down to the back of your seats is 700 Nm of torque, sustained from 1,750 rpm to 4,500 rpm. That’s more than the W204 generation C-Classs’s final hurrah C63 Edition 507’s 507 hp and 610 Nm.Despite the ridiculously high power output, the C63 S is only available with a rear-wheel drive transmission, the multi-clutch semi-automatic 7-speed AMG Speedshift MCT unit with Dynamic Select function – Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual modes are available.Traction out of corners is further aided by an electronically actuated mechanical locking rear differential.Damping on all four corners is via the AMG Ride Control adaptive dampers0-100 km/h is completed in 4.0 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 250 km/h, but can be raised to 290 km/h by opting for the AMG Driver’s Package (price to be confirmed). If you must know, claimed fuel economy is 8.4-litre/100 km (NEDC combined cycle). ✕ Let's Connect on Whatsapp We protect your personal information in compliance with the PDPA I agree with Carlist.my Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
