Weststar Maxus Adds 3S Centre In Penang, 8th Outlet in Malaysia

Weststar Maxus Distributors Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Maxus range of vehicles in Malaysia, has recently officiated the opening of their Northern hub located in Bukit Mertajam, Penang.

The company was encouraged to expand their presence and services in the northern region, with the booming industrial development zones within the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) that includes Kulim High Technology Park, Bayan Lepas Industrial Zone, Mak Mandin Industrial Park, and Batu Kawan Industrial Park.

Speaking at the launch event, Dato’ Nik Hamdan, Group Senior Vice President, Automotive and Defence Division said, “One of the primary reasons why we have opened this facility in Bukit Mertajam is to increase sales of our range of vehicles in a more focused manner, and also to provide quality after-sales service, working alongside with authorized independent service dealers to serve our growing number of customers in this region.”

The company also took the opportuning to unveil the updated 2018 Maxus V80 van at the launching of the new 3S centre, with the northern region expected to increase the total sales by at least 30%.

A total of RM 3.5 million was invested for the establishment of the Bukit Mertajam 3S centre. The spacious showroom floor can display three G10 MPV and two V80 van models, while the workshop has six work bays.

A waiting lounge with food and beverage counter together with a children’s play area ensure customers relax in comfort. 11 well trained and dedicated staff manned the new 3S centre.     

The opening of the Bukit Mertajam 3S Centre brings the total number of Weststar Maxus sales and service centres in Malaysia to eight. Datuk Vikram Menon, Executive Director, the Weststar group, also said that the company is planning to expand to East Malaysia, with the support of the upcoming T60 pickup and D90 SUV models.

The T60 pickup premiere at the Auto Guangzhou before going on sale in Q1 2017, which was then introduced in Australia in September.
