Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia Announces New Managing Director
Berita KeretaIt’s normal for European brands to have directors that rotate in and out like a revolving door, but Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) is a relatively new operation. Their latest appointment is Mr. Erik Winter, who will be the new Managing Director of VPCM with immediate effect. He replaces Mr. Alin Tapalaga, who will be returning to Europe for health reasons.
Winter will oversee both Brand and Human Resource operations, and he will join Mr. Florian Steiner who is VPCM’s Managing Director for Aftersales, Information Technology, and Finance. Winter has had 16 years of experience serving under Porsche Holding Salzburg’s various business units globally. His last posting was in China where he was handling the retail operations for one of their brands.
For now, his job in Malaysia is to increase VPCM’s market share and strengthen their dealer network, but most of all to enhance the aftersales service. The announcement of Volkswagen’s goodwill program for the DSG is likely only the first of many more to come under Winter’s direction for the brand.
