Volkswagen Expands ALLSTAR Treatment To 2017 Vento, Adds Vento GT

In a bid to keep the Vento competitive against the dominant Honda City and Toyota Vios, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) is now expanding the Vento’s range to include a special edition Vento ALLSTAR, and a Vento GT that’s slotted below the Vento Highline, also powered by the same 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged engine paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic transmission.

Price at RM89,888, the Vento GT shares the same TSI+DSG combo powertrain as the Vento Highline, but minus the Vento Highline’s LED headlamps, itself a new addition to the model.

Compared to the 1.6-litre MPI naturally aspirated Vento Comfortline, the Vento GT adds RM9,000 worth of accessories, including ‘Satin’ black roof and exterior mirror wraps, black door strips and trunk garnish, leather seats, aluminium sports pedals, GT aerokit, ‘GT’ scuff plates, emblems, and carpet mats.

The Vento GT is available only in two colours – Reflex Silver and Candy White. The rest of the Vento range is available in the aforementioned colours, as well as Carbon Steel Grey, Deep Black, and Flash Red.

Meanwhile, the Vento ALLSTAR is only available with 1.6-litre MPI naturally aspirated engine, paired to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission with Tiptronic function. It’s the second ALLSTAR special edition model after the Polo ALLSTAR.

Basically a dressed up Vento Comfortline, the RM79,888 Vento ALLSTAR adds RM7,000 worth of accessories including leather seats, aluminium sports pedals, rear spoiler, black door strips and trunk garnish, ‘ALLSTAR’ scuff plates, emblems and carpet mats.

As an added bonus, the Vento ALLSTAR is equipped with the new MY VW Drive App, which allows the driver to track driving style and fuel consumption. It also allows the driver to immediately call for assistance from Mondial Roadside Assistance in the event of an emergency.
