Toyota Vios Challenge Resumes in August For Season 2

Following the popularity and success of the inaugural Toyota Vios Challenge and Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Festival, UMW Toyota Motor, the authorised distributor of Toyota vehicles in Malaysia has announced the racing calendar for Season 2.

During the launch event, Toyota also revealed new racers who will make their Toyota Vios Challenge debut (Promotion Class) at the season opener in Terengganu in early August.

Challenging the celebrities from Season 1 (Janna Nick, Diana Danielle, Syukri Yahaya, and champion Shawn Lee) will be Aiman Tino, Akim Ahmad, Khai Bahar, Nabil Ahmad, Nabila Razali, and Wany Hasrita.

Season 2’s racing calendar maintains four races, making its first visit to the East Coast of the Peninsular as well as racing at the famed Sepang circuit:

• Stadium Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, Terengganu – 2 to 4 August 2018
• MAEPS, Serdang – 19 to 21 October 2018
• Stadium Batu Kawan, Penang – 22  to 24 February  2019
• Sepang International Circuit, Selangor – 12 – 14 April 2019

No mention of upgrades in the TRD Asia-developed Toyota Vios Challenge racer, as the technical partners of Toyo tires, Denso, Enkei, and Moty’s are all maintained.

As an extension to the TGR Festival at racing weekends, Toyota will also be involved in E-Sports through racing simulators.

Toyota also took the opportunity to rejuvenate their “All About the Drive” branding platform. New products will feature connectivity and advanced safety, while brand communication will be skewed to reach the younger generation more effectively.
