The BMW X5 Goes On An Inception-Like Roadtrip
Berita KeretaFollowing its global unveiling last month, the all-new BMW G05 X5 is a big step forward for the German luxury brand. Even though there's plenty of hubub surrounding the X7 iPerformance (slated for release next year), the X5 is the here and now, and the one that started it all for the wide and wonderful BMW X range of SAVs and SACs.
BMW has just released a video showcasing the X5 as it travels across a variety of terrains, with some mind bending editing to make you feel like it's 2010 and you're watching Inception again for the first time. The sleek SAV features a number of new technologies to make the ownership experience more convenient than ever, which has been the focus of the luxury car industry over the last few years.
The all-new X5 is longer (+36 mm), wider (+66 mm) and taller (+19 mm) than the model it replaces, coming in at 4,922 mm x 2,004 mm x 1,745 mm. In addition to this, the wheelbase is now 42 mm longer, coming in at 2,975 mm. As shown in the video, the X5 is now available with 22-inch wheels as an option.
On the inside, things are completely different as well, with the new centre console design and plenty of piano black materials. Controls are much easier to access and well within reach, allowing drivers to change settings on the fly without having to dive into menus.
At launch, the all-new G05 X5 can be had with one V8 and three straight-six engines. The V8 powers the X5 xDrive50i model, delivering 462 hp and 650 Nm. The other petrol model is the X5 xDrive40i, delivering a total of 340 hp and 450 Nm. The range-topping X5 M50d is powered by a quad turbocharged straight-six diesel that churns out 400 hp and 750 Nm.
