Thai Owners Take First Deliveries Of Their Malaysian-Produced MINI Countrymans

Berita Kereta

Just last week, BMW Group Malaysia announced that Thailand would be importing their MINI Countrymans (Countrymen?) from Malaysia, which is a pretty proud moment for their plant (to be fair, any time a Malaysian-assembled or produced car gets exported for sale elsewhere, it's pretty exciting). This week the first owners up in Thailand will be taking delivery of their cars, available as a Countryman Cooper S in two trim levels.

The regular Countryman Cooper S is on sale for THB 2,299,000, or around RM 259,557, inclusive of VAT. Opting for the higher spec Countryman Cooper S Hightrim will set you back THB 200,000 more, or around RM 22,580. Between the two models, the Hightrim gets additional chrome trim, a rear-view camera with the Parking Assistant system, a larger 8.8-inch touchscreen, and the MINI Head-Up display.

Both cars are powered by the same 192 hp, 280 Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that is also found in our Cooper S models locally. They're paired with the same 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, as well as 18-inch rims on each corner. Being the largest model in the MINI range, the Countryman is the most practical form for families looking for the styling and quirkiness that comes with the territory, but need a little more space than a hatchback affords.
