Suzuki Begins Production of Ertiga In Myanmar
Berita KeretaMyanmar has now become the third country to produce the seven-seater Suzuki Ertiga.
Suzuki Motor Corporation’s subsidiary in Myanmar, Suzuki (Myamar) Motor Co., Ltd. (SMMC) will produce the Suzuki MPV model for emerging markets at its plant in South Dagon, Yangon. The Ertiga is the second Suzuki model after the Carry light commercial truck to be produced at the plant.
Suzuki says it aims to produce 100 units of the Ertiga every month, with sales to commence by the end of July.
With this, the Ertiga will now be produced in three countries – India, Indonesia and Myanmar. The Myanmarese Ertiga are left-hand drive while the ones made in India and Indonesia are right-hand drive.
Powering the Ertiga is the same 1.4-litre petrol engine fitted in the India- and Indonesian-made Ertiga models.
