Spyshot: 2017 Proton Preve Refinement Sighted, Launch Imminent?

Currently in Proton’s lineup, the Preve and Suprima S remains the company’s only models yet to receive the new TCU update and three-point engine mount configuration. The rest of the lineup, including the Iriz and Exora has received improvements to the transmission.

A couple of months back, we spotted this Suprima S prototype heading up Genting Highlands. That particular test mule was shod in a new set of dual-tone wheels. Our friends over at Funtasticko also posted some updates about the new Preve, wearing identical looking wheels.

Courtesy of one anonymous reader, we were sent photos of the updated Proton Preve at a holding yard, hinting that a launch is imminent.

From the photos, we can see that Proton has applied the same updates as the Iriz and Exora with a blacked out front grille from the Suprima S, black side mirrors and roof plus Proton’s new corporate emblem.

Curiously, these units are not wearing the new dual tone alloy wheels we saw elsewhere.

Our friends at Funtasticko also shared photos of the new Preve's interior. It appears that the new Preve will be updated with a new finishing on the dashboard that features an interlocking mesh-like design. The touchscreen headunit also appears to be new. 

Last year, we also reported that the Preve will be turbo-only affair, as Proton wants to drop IAFM variants of its C-segment saloon. We expect the new Preve's NVH to be largely improved over its predecessor, as we enjoyed the improvements done on the Iriz and Persona.
