Komoco Motors Pte Ltd, the sole distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Singapore, has launched the new Hyundai Avante at the ongoing Singapore Motor Show 2019.

The facelifted C-segment Avante sedan, or also known as the Elantra in Malaysia and in other selected markets, features heavily revised front and rear designs.

Sharp triangle-shaped light housings (both head lamp and indicators) dominate the front fascia. The cascading grille is now larger with sharper edges to provide additional visual impact.

Hyundai has decided to restyle the trunk lid, with the Hyundai logo and Avante emblems occupying the central section, where the number plate previously reside.

Complementing the front head lamps, the redesigned tail lamps also feature some triangle-shape together with new lighting graphics.

Inside the new Avante, the company did listen to feedback and have improved on the appearance and functions.

The meter cluster design has been updated for better visibility, while the air conditioning controls for the manual version return to a layout consisting of three large dials for better ease-of-use.

New trim pieces, as well as finishing, add to a higher quality look in the cabin.

Standard features include 15-inch tyres and wheels, touch screen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, rear air-con duct, and split folding rear seats.

The ‘Elite’ variant, the highest spec-level, gets you LED head lamps, rain sensing wipers, climate-controlled front seats, and a memory system for the driver’s seat.

Only one powertrain is available for the island nation- a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine paired with a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The engine develops 127 PS of power and 155 Nm of torque.

Fuel consumption is average for this segment, returning 6.7 litres per 100 kilometres on the combined cycle.

Pricing for the new Hyundai Avante starts at SGD 74,999, while mid-level the ‘S’ variant fetches SGD 79,999. The ‘Elite’ variant that offers more comfort and convenience features is priced from SGD 86,999.
