Singapore 2019: All-New Toyota RAV4 Launched, From SGD 119k

Toyota Singapore has launched the fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 mid-sized SUV at the ongoing Singapore Motorshow. Following the global debut of the model in March 2018, this is the first time a right-hand drive version of the latest generation model has gone on sale in the larger Australasian region.

Only one variant is offered, priced from SGD 119,888, powered by Toyota’s new-generation Dynamic Force 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine which develops 150 hp and 203 Nm. The engine is coupled to a Direct Shift CVT automatic that distributes power to the front wheels. The RAV4 is claimed to achieve 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds and have a top speed of 185 km/h.

The RAV4 is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) 'K platform', which is claimed to drive better thanks to the lower centre of gravity, 57 percent more rigid body shell as well as wider front and rear tracks. Ride comfort is also greatly improved with the adoption of a rear trailing wishbone suspension.

Exterior features on the Singapore market RAV4 include projector LED lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, and LED combination rear lamps.

On the inside, the RAV4 receives a Smart Entry and Start system, LED ambient lighting, and a 7-inch digital meter on the instrument cluster. 

In terms of safety, the RAV4 is equipped as standard with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), 7-airbags, ABS, Brake Assist and Hill start assist control. Crucially, Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) which includes active safety systems such as dynamic radar cruise control, Lane Departure Alert, and Pre-Collision Warning with Pedestrian Detection comes as standard.
