Shell And Porsche's First DC Fast Charging Station Is Now Open In Johor

Shell and Porsche Asia Pacific have opened their first HPC charging station in Tangkak, Johor.

Nine months after its original announcement, Shell and Porsche Asia Pacific have announced the operational start of their high-performance charging (HPC) station, beginning with the first one in Tangkak, Johor. This HPC station marks the start of the construction of 12 charge points at six Shell stations strategically located along Malaysia's North-South highway. 

All EV customers will be able to use the HPC Network via a pay-per-use service or an exclusive membership plan by making reservations via an online booking app. 

The six Shell stations in Malaysia will be outfitted with 180 kilowatt (kW) direct-current (DC) chargers, offering the fastest charging capacity across Malaysia and later right up to Bangkok, Thailand. 

As an example, the fast DC charger is able to re-juice the Porsche Taycan from zero to 80% battery capacity in around 30 minutes.

If we refer to Shell and Porsche's original plans, these should be the locations for the upcoming stations.
