Porsche Unveils New 718 T – Stripped Down For Driving Pleasure
Berita KeretaNow, Porsche has applied the same formula to the 718, creating the 718 T. Both the Boxster and Cayman can be had with the T treatment, with weight starting from 1,350 kg, or 1,380 kg for the PDK-equipped model.
Unlike the 911 Carrera T, however, the 718 T receives the base 2.0-litre turbocharged flat-four that cranks out 300 PS and 380 Nm, mated to a six-speed manual or seven-speed PDK. The century sprint is accomplished in just 5.1 seconds for the manual, while PDK-equipped models are quicker at 4.7 seconds.
The Porsche 718 T also receives dynamic gearbox mount, Sport Chrono package, short shifter for the manual, and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with a mechanical rear locking differential.
Inside, the weight-saving efforts are noticeable – out go the regular door handles, replaced with black door pulls, along with sport seats with electric two-way adjustment, and a large gaping hole in place of where the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system should have been. Of course, one can opt to have the PCM system in place too, at no extra cost.
Buyers who opt for PDK-equipped models will get Launch Control and Sport Response buttons, located on the centre of the Mode switch of the steering wheel.
Speaking of cost, Porsche says that 718 T buyers can enjoy a marginal discount of 5% – 10% compared to a similarly-equipped model. Prices start from EUR 63,047 for the 718 Cayman T, while the 718 Boxster T is priced from EUR 65,070.
