PDRM Sets Up Nationwide Safety Programme To Curb Festive Season Crimes
Berita KeretaDuring festive seasons are also when the frequency of certain crimes increase. There are upshots in house break-ins, vehicle thefts, and property damage, to name but a few. As such, police personnel nationwide have set up a “Balik Kampung Safety programme” to curb such occurrences.
"House owners heading out of town and leaving their house vacant are advised to fill up the 'Balik Kampung Information Form' and submit to the nearest police station,” said Shah Alam police chief ACP Shafien Mamat, who added that burglaries and motorcycle thefts to be the top crime activities here, according to The Sun Daily.
During a press conference at the Shah Alam police headquarters, he told reporters: "We will then file the information based on the forms and scrutinise which area to do mobile patrolling,”
"Police patrols will be conducted to ensure the safety of the vacant houses during the festive season."
Finally, Shafien said the necessary forms can be obtained through a download via the PDRM website or, alternatively, from the nearest police station.
