PDRM was reported to have conducted a special two-day operation over late last week at Genting Sempah, resulting in a total of 32 public transport vehicles being caught and seized for operating without permits and/or road tax.

Bukit Aman operations officer, DSP Bakri Zainal Abidin said the vehicles that were seized in the operation mostly included buses and taxis that were ferrying passengers to and from Genting Highlands.

"The operation involved personnel from the police, Road Transport Department, Land Public Transport Commission, Department of Environment, Puspakom and the National Anti-drug Agency," Bakri told reporters.

"A total of 385 summonses were issued for various offences, with four arrests for offences under the Dangerous Drugs Act, while two people were detained under the Immigration Act," he said.

The operation concluded with over 3,000 vehicles checked over the two-day period. However, as was said, the focus was on public transportation.
