Nissan Pays Tribute to India with Style and Sets a World Record

In case you didn’t know, yesterday was India’s Republic Day, which basically honors the date on which the Indian Constitution came into effect in 1950.

And while many parties from around the world were sending their wishes to India and paying their tributes as usual, Nissan did something extraordinary.

Normally, car manufacturers would come up with things like social media postings, posters, small announcements and what not during occasions like this, but Nissan India decided to take things to a whole new level by carving an outline of India’s map which stretched across a few km, using a GT-R.

The feat was performed at the Sambhar Lake in Rajasthan by professional rally driver Rahul Kanthraj, who was being guided by a map that was first plotted on a GPS device.

Making its way into the Guinness World Book of Records for being the world’s largest outline of a country’s map, the massive outline stretches across 3km in length and 2.8km in width, with a total outline periphery of 14.7km.

Now, who would’ve thought that Nissan loves India this much, right?

Whatever it is, we have to give it up to Nissan for pulling this awesome feat.
