New Toyota Avanza Open For Bookings – Now With BSM and RCTA
Berita KeretaFollowing its launch in Indonesia earlier in January, local distributor UMW Toyota Motor has confirmed that the new Toyota Avanza will be making its Malaysian debut very soon.
As before, the new Avanza will be imported from Toyota’s sister-company Daihatsu’s plant in Indonesia.
Based on the sole teaser image posted on UMW Toyota’s official website, we will most likely be getting sportier Veloz design that’s also offered in Indonesia.
Looking like a scaled down Vellfire but minus the sliding doors, the new Avanza looks a lot better in person than the pictures suggests.
Three variants will be available, prices excluding insurance:
- 1.5E: RM 80,888
- 1.5S: RM 83,888
- 1.5S+: RM 87,888
The biggest difference with the new Avanza are split-level headlamps and all variants now get bi-LED units.
The tail lights have yet to be revealed but it will most probably be identical to the Indonesian market model, which now has a chrome strip extending into the tail lamp housing.
Digital air-conditioning control is also standard across the range.
The highest specification 1.5S+ model gets 6.75-inch touch screen six-speaker infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. It also has a reverse camera with rear-cross traffic alert, plus Blind Spot Monitor.
Also available as an option are rear-entertainment system (roof mounted monitor) and rear-mounted digital video recorder.
Mechanically, it remains unchanged with the familiar 2NR-VE Dual VVT-i engine paired to a 4-speed automatic driving the rear wheels.
Note: Indonesian market Avanza Veloz shown. Details for Malaysian market model may vary.
