New Honda NSX Colours On Display At The Quail During Monterey Car Week

During ‘The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering’ event at the Monterey Car Week in California, a trio of all-new Acura NSX models (or better known as the Honda NSX to us), was displayed, two of which were shown for the very first time.

The three colours you see before you here are Valencia Red Pearl, Nouvelle Blue Pearl, and Berlina Black, each having their own features and options for the exterior and interior.

On the exterior, there is a carbon fibre package consisting of front spliter, side sills, rear diffuser, and exhaust finisher. Also available is the NSX carbon engine cover, carbon roof, and painted brake callipers. You also note that the NSX in red gets the NSX Signature Y-Spoke Wheels while the blue model has NSX Exclusive Interwoven Wheels instead.

The cabin is also similar, save for small leather upholstery colour changes, for the three models on display at the Quail although the NSX in blue and black do get the interior carbon sports package that tags on a carbon fibre meter visor, steering garnish, aluminium foot rest, and sport pedals.

Of course, the mid-engine NSX comes equipped with a Sport Hybrid powertrain that consists of a 3.5-litre DOHC V6 engine boosted by twin turbochargers delivering “at least” 550hp, and is paired to a 9-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT).

However, there is some bad news to accompany all this excitement – production the NSX will be delayed with Acura confirming that deliveries for the supercar being pushed back to the first quarter of 2016. Why?

Well, half-way through the development of the NSX some time ago, they made the swtich from a transverse-mounted, naturally aspirated V6 engine to a longitudinally mounted, twin-turbocharged V6. Those changes pushed validation testing for the NSX back further than the company anticipated. The Acura/Honda NSX is produced at Honda’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio.

So, we’ll have to wait just a little while longer for the Honda NSX. At least, they gave us these lovely images to drool over in the meantime, which is nice.
