New Audi Q2 Previewed In Malaysia, Possible 2019 Debut?

Audi Malaysia has previewed two upcoming models at the Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE), happening at the Setia City Convention Centre this weekend. The first is the Audi Q2, while the other is the second generation Audi Q5.

The Audi Q2 is the Inglostadt-based company’s smallest SUV ever, sitting below the Q3, Q5, and Q7. Built on the company’s MQB platform, the Audi Q2 is aimed squarely at grabbing a share of the premium compact crossover segment from the BMW X1, MINI Countryman, and Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Last year, Audi Thailand showcased the Q2 at the 2017 Bangkok International Motor Show in the 35 TFSI trim. This particular model is powered by 1.4-litre TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that does 150 hp and 250 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Will Audi Malaysia launch the Q2 in 2019? There is a good chance it could happen, as Audi is going to focus more on SUVs for the Malaysian market, as there is a strong demand for such vehicles here.
