More Details Unveiled In The All-New Toyota Vios, Promises Much Better Comfort
Berita KeretaAt the recently concluded 2018 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS 2018), UMW Toyota previewed the all-new Toyota Vios that is available in three variants with prices estimated from RM 77,200 to RM 87,300.
Among the key features in the all-new Toyota Vios is the much-improved comfort levels. Toyota claims the popular new sedan has better ride comfort thanks to the newly-calibrated shock absorbers and coil springs.
Apart from the suspension tuning, a more rigid bodyshell (through additional spot-welds) also improve the comfort levels and stability on both highways and cornering.
Toyota also says occupants will also take note of the quieter cabin. This was achieved through increased areas of insulation as well as usage of the noise-cutting front windshield and front side windows.
The video also has glimpses of the much disliked (or appreciated, depending on who you are asking) ultra-bright dual-rear fog lamps that first appeared in the previous model.
To recap, the all-new Toyota Vios continues to use the highly fuel-efficient powertrain pairing of the 1.5-litre 2NR-FE engine with the CVT-type transmission that has a manual mode function. The engine develops 107 PS and 140 Nm of torque and returns a fuel consumption of about 17 kilometres per litre under the UNECE R101 test cycle.
Standard features in the '1.5J' variant include 7 airbags, electronic stability control, automatic air-conditioning system, LED DRLs, Sport or Eco drive modes, and keyless entry with a push start/stop button.
The middle ‘1.5E‘ variant adds LED tail lamps, blind spot monitoring, touchscreen infotainment system with USB mirroring, panoramic view camera system, and a digital video recorder with lane departure warning and forward collision warning functions.
The high specification ‘1.5G’ variant receives niceties such as projector-type head lamps, 16-inch rims, leather seat upholstery, steering wheel shift paddles, upgraded audio with 6 speakers, and Optitron meters with a colour display.
