Mercedes-Benz Updates E-Class Family – Mild Hybrid Added To The Range

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the refreshed E-Class range here, comprising of the E200 Sportstyle Avantgarde, E300 Exclusive Line, and the E350 AMG Line, The plug-in hybrid E350e has since been discontinued.

The E350 AMG Line is now a mild hybrid. The updated 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that is now hooked up to a belt-driven starter generator (RSG). Combined system output is 299 hp and 400 Nm. The engine alone makes 370 Nm, boosted by additional 150 Nm of boost contributed by the RSG (output from engine and motor peak at different rotational speeds so the figures can't be summed numerically). Sprint from standstill to 100 km/h is achieved in just 5.9 seconds.

In addition to the new engine, the E350 AMG Line now gets the Driving Assistance Package and Dynamic Body Control adaptive suspension.

Apart from the new E350 AMG Line, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also introduced the E200 Sportstyle Avantgarde. Without assistance from the RSG mild hybrid, the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine makes 197 hp and 320 Nm.

The Sportstyle package adds:

• Chrome strip on the front and rear bumpers
• Emblem on each front fender
• New muffler trim pieces
• Black headliner
• Light carbon grain aluminium centre console trim
• Brushed stainless steel sport pedals
• Sportstyle floor mats
• Blind Spot Assist

Last but not least is the E300 Exclusive, powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 258 hp and 370 Nm.

New to the E300 Exclusive is the Lane Tracking package, which includes Blind Spot Assist and Lane Keeping Assist.

Estimated prices start from:

• RM 329,888 for the E200 Sportstyle Avantgarde
• RM 379,888 for the E300 Exclusive
• RM 399,888 for the E350 AMG Line

All prices are on-the-road without insurance.

As before, all three variant listed above are locally-assembled at Mercedes-Benz’s assembly facility in Pekan, Pahang.
