Meet The Vigus Pro 4x4, JMC's First Vehicle In Malaysia

You can now view the JMC Vigus Pro 4x4 at ATM’s flagship showroom in Klang, Selangor and also place a booking at their nearest dealers.

Angka-Tan Motor Sdn Bhd (ATM), a subsidiary of Tan Chong Group's Warisan TC Holdings, will expand its vehicle portfolio after being appointed by Jiangling Motors Co., Ltd (JMC) as the official distributor of the JMC Vigus Pro 4x4 pickup truck in Malaysia.

The collaboration between ATM and JMC is now underway after both parties signed an agreement on July 1, 2020. JMC has given ATM full rights to manufacture, install, and sell the JMC Vigus Pro 4x4 pickup truck, spare parts and related components in Malaysia. ATM also plans to offer JMC Vigus Pro through 13 sales and service outlets nationwide.

If you're wondering what this JMC Vigus Pro 4x4 is all about, let's start with when it was introduced in China. The JMC Vigus Pro 4x4, better known as the Yuhu 9 in China, is JMC's flagship truck that debuted in 2019.

It sits above the Vigus and Vigus Plus in China and features an exaggerated large-mouth air intake grille with slim headlights flanking it on each side.

The interior features some intriguing designs, including what JMC calls a two-spoke 'Racer' steering wheel, 'Fighter' shift lever, and a large 12-inch infotainment screen.

In its homeland, it is offered with an array of safety and convenience systems, including a lane departure warning system, intelligent cruise control, forward collision warning and auto braking system, as well as a traffic sign recognition system. 

While the complete details of the locally assembled truck are still unknown, Angka-Tan has released some information regarding the truck, mostly regarding its powertrain. 

The Malaysian JMC Vigus Pro 4x4 comes with a 2.0 -litre turbo diesel VGT engine capable of producing 141 PS of power and 340 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to an eight-speed ratio ZF automatic transmission, and the 4WD drive system is from Borgwarner with 2H, 4H and 4L mode settings. The truck also features a rear differential lock from Eaton.

The full price and specifications of the JMC Vigus Pro will be revealed later this month, and interested parties can take a closer look at the model at the main ATM showroom in Klang, Selangor.
