Kia Seltos Open For Booking, Poised To Fight HR-V, CX-3, C-HR

Hot on the heels of another korean B-segment crossover is the Kia Seltos, which is closer to launching than ever. What's it going up against?

It's the most competitive segment in the market right now, and for good reason - many buyers are forgoing the traditional route with car size progression and going instead for an SUV or crossover type vehicle. The Kia Seltos is the latest to join that list of cars, and it comes packing a punch.

In conjunction with the announcement of the opening of bookings for the Seltos at any Kia showroom nationwide, there have also been a number of images released to highlight the features and specifications of the upcoming crossover. One of the highlights is the lighting system - part of which is the Sound Mood Lighting System that pulses to the beat of music playing.

Heads-up displays help to keep your eyes on the road and improve safety, displaying everything from speed to Auto Cruise Control status, and even in-car entertainment readouts. This works in tandem with the 8-inch display sitting front and centre, replete with Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple Carplay connectivity.

So what is the Seltos going to be going against? The Honda HR-V is the most obvious rival to beat, with packaging that is simply top in class and pricing that is extremely competitive. But the Mazda CX-3 and the Toyota C-HR both offer some truly impressive handling ability, with the latter being priced at a premium while having much better ride comfort to boot.

With all of these to go against, as well as its sister the Hyundai Kona, the Kia Seltos will definitely have its work cut out for it.
