Isuzu to Produce Next-Generation Mazda BT-50.
Berita KeretaMazda Motor Corporation and Isuzu Motors Limited have concluded a basic agreement for collaboration on the next-generation of pick-up trucks, said both companies in a joint statement to the press. Under the basic agreement, Isuzu will produce the next-generation of pick-up trucks for Mazda based on Isuzu's underpinnings for its next generation pick-up truck.
Currently, the Mazda BT-50 is produced at the Ford-Mazda co-owned AutoAlliance Thailand plant in Rayong, Thailand, alongside the Ford Ranger. The new agreement would mean production of the next-generation Mazda BT-50 would likely move to Isuzu’s facility in Samut Prakan, Thailand, which currently produces the D-Max.
Both Mazda and Isuzu also adds that the two have enjoyed a collaborative relationship within the Japanese market for more than 10-years, with Isuzu producing commercial trucks for Mazda. This agreement reinforces the continuous long-term relationship between Mazda and Isuzu.
