Hyundai Palisade updated for 2023 now open for booking in Malaysia - From RM368k

The Hyundai Palisade has gone under the knife and the 2023 facelifted model is now open for booking here in Malaysia.

These major cosmetic changes can be found both for the front and rear fascias, plus some interior updates to further elevate the 2023 Hyundai Palisade's overall premium-ness along to go along with its new price tags.

'Parametric Jewel' design identity

The facelifted Hyundai Palisade features the brand's latest 'Parametric Jewel' design identity which offers a more bold-looking front and rear ends. The front fascia now features a new radiator cascading-style grille that's wider together with redesigned LED headlights and DRLs housed within a redesigned bumper, and new skid plates.

The layout of the LED headlights paired with the new radiator grille, front bumper, and tucked-in DRLs certainly elevate Hyundai's flagship SUV to the next level when it comes to the premium SUV market. These changes also added an extra 20mm to the front overhang for an even stronger-looking stance (an extra 5mm for the rear).

Its side profile and rear fascia also follow this new and updated theme for the Palisade with changes that can be found in its rear combination lights, reflectors, rear bumper, skid plates, and of course, new alloy wheels.

All variants of the 2023 Hyundai Palisade will ride on the new 20-inch alloy wheels together with a new rear bumper that houses the fog light and LED reversing lights as well as the skid plates. Even the rear combination light arrangement is new but only the LED unit is available for the Petrol variant.

Fancy yet clean-looking interior

Step inside the 'driving space' of this newly-updated Palisade and you'll find a new steering wheel, a larger 12.3-inch AVN infotainment screen with a new graphic user interface, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, a bezel-less rearview mirror (also electrochromic), and black AVNT (Audio Video Navigation Telematics) switch as well as slimmer air vents to help tie everything together.

As for the finishing, the interior can be finished in three different colour options of your choosing - black monotone leather/cloth look, burgundy Nappa leather/cloth look, and warm grey Nappa leather, layered wood.

Two engine options, seven & eight-seater configurations

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade is available in two different engine options and for each of them, you can also opt between the Executive variant (eight-seater) and the more pricey Luxury variant (seven-seater).

Starting with the 2.2-litre R CRDi four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, this beauty packs 200PS and 440Nm of torque. The diesel unit also comes with AWD and HTRAC system to help optimise traction for all road conditions (even for snow, mud, and sand for its Terrain Mode) as well as variable control for the wheels based on the driving mode you're currently in.

As for the range-topping petrol model, it comes ready with a 3.8-litre Lambda II GDI V6 engine that kicks up 295PS and 355Nm of torque. Both engine options are mated to the same eight-speed automatic gearbox, but only the diesel gets the HTRAC system for its AWD configuration.

The updated 2023 Hyundai Palisade flagship SUV is priced as follows:

• 3.8L Petrol Luxury (seven-seater) - RM399,888

The standard warranty period for private usage is 24 months or 50,000km (whichever comes first) but there's also the extended warranty package that pushes these figures up to 60 months or 300,000km.

Six exterior colour options are available - Creamy White Pearl, Graphite Gray Metallic, Shimmering Silver Metallic, Moonlight Blue Pearl, Abyss Black Pearl, and Gala Brown Pearl.
