Guangzhou 2018: Nissan Debuts ProPILOT In China Through All-New Teana Sedan

Nissan and Dongfeng Motor unveiled the all-new Teana to the Chinese market this morning. The all-new D-segment sedan made its global debut at the New York Autoshow earlier this year.

The Teana (天籁) name will only be used in characters due to the product's familiarity with the local consumers, as Nissan will be streamlining the mid-size sedan naming to Altima globally.

Similar to the engine line-up in North America, the all-new Teana will feature the world’s first production-ready variable compression turbocharged petrol engine. Depending on driving conditions, the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine self-adjusts anywhere between a minimum compression ratio of 8:1 for added performance or a maximum of 14:1 for better fuel efficiency.

It's also the first model in China to offer Nissan's ProPILOT hands-on driver assistance system. The technology helps drivers stay centred in their lane, navigate stop-and-go traffic and maintain a set speed and distance to the vehicle ahead.

Exterior highlights in the all-new Nissan Teana include the large V-motion front grille, wrap-around rear windscreen pillar on the ‘floating’ C-pillar, 19-inch wheels, and LED lighting with boomerang-shaped signature graphics.
