Ford Ranger Sales Are Up By 9 Percent For Strong First Quarter

Berita Kereta

Just a week or two ago, we announced that Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) launched the Ranger Wildtrak 2.2L. While it may be a little late to add to the total number of pickups that Ford has sold locally this first quarter, it will definitely help in the coming months. That being said, Ranger sales are up by 9% compared to last year, with a total of 1,451 vehicles moved for the first quarter.

This in turn also improved Ford's share in the pickup truck market, taking 15.3% of the pickup truck segment, or 1.3% more than last year. The Ranger is available in Malaysia in ten variants – including the Ranger Wildtrak, Ranger FX4, XLT, XL and Standard variants - and while other vehicles in Ford's local lineup may be phased out in the coming months and years, the Ranger will remain a capable and reliable workhorse for the people.

Ford and SDAC are continuing their expansion plans for Malaysia, with their dealership network improving especially in East Malaysia. Just recently, a new Ford showroom opened up in Kuching, and you can read about it here
