Facelifted Mazda 2 Unveiled – Updated Design, More Tech
Berita KeretaFollowing the footsteps of the larger Mazda 3 and Mazda 6, Mazda has renamed the Japanese market Demio to the Mazda 2 in an effort to streamline their model names across all markets.
Apart from renaming the little hatchback, Mazda has also given the 2 a refreshed exterior design.
Design wise, the facelifted Mazda 2 gets a front fascia that is reminiscent of the larger Mazda 3 and Mazda 6, featuring a larger air intake surrounded by a chrome trim piece that extends into both headlights. Even the lower half of the front bumper mimics its larger siblings.
The rear end changes are not as apparent as the front end, but according to Mazda, the updated 2 gets new tail light graphics. The rear bumper is also new, now with chrome strips at each end. New 16-inch alloy wheels help complete the exterior of the new 2.
As for the interior, the design remains largely identical, but the Hiroshima-based firm has updated the Mazda Connect infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Depending on variant, the updated Mazda 2 also gets powered driver seats with memory function, auto dimming rear view mirror, and new interior trim colour options.
Apart from the visual updates, Mazda has also fitted the updated 2 with Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC), and Lane-keep Assist System (LAS), depending on variant.
Bookings are now opened for Japanese customers, and Mazda has said that the new 2 will be officiated in September.
