Exclusive Look at the First Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Sport Coupé in Malaysia

Mercedes-Benz's new entrant into the niche BMW carved for themselves with their X6 SUV Coupé might not be on our shores just yet, but the GLE Coupé has aready appeared on the parallel importer marketplace, and in its most exciting form, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Sport Coupé, to which Carlist.my was given a special exclusive look at. 

Imported by Mustapha Trading Sdn. Bhd., these two GLE 450 AMG Coupés, which are showcased at the Bermuda Niaga showroom in Petaling Jaya, are said to be the first examples of the GLE Coupé in Malaysia. Both GLE 450 AMG Coupés sport a price tag of RM928,000 each. You can find them on Carlist.my's listings. 

According to a spokesperson at Bermuda Niaga, both GLE 450 Coupés are of UK specification, and were imported directly from Germany with less than 50km on its odometer. Both vehicles will be sold to customers with a dealer-provided minimum 1-year warranty or 3-year warranty (terms and conditions apply). 

As befitting of the top of the range GLE Coupé – omitting the full-fledged GLE63 AMG model – the GLE 450 AMG Sport Coupés comes brimmed with features. The interior is swathed in black Nappa leather with red stitching, whereas occupants will be treated with the fitment of electric panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround-sound system, 360-degree all-round camera, and electrically-adjustable front seats with memory functionality.

Exterior appearances on the other hand is sharpened up with aluminium running boards, illuminated door sills, and dominating 21-inch AMG light-alloy wheels.

Power for the GLE 450 AMG comes from a 3-litre biturbo V6 producing 367hp and 520Nm of torque. With power sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic, this 2,220kg SUV can shift from 0 to 100km/h in 5.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 250km/h.

The GLE 450 AMG comes with the Dynamic Select system that manages the chassis, suspension, steering, and powertrain. With five transmission mode, Individual, Comfort, Slippery, Sport, and Sport+, drivers are able to adjust the settings for the vehicle parameters to suit the road and their driving needs.

The two Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Sport Coupés are available for viewing at the Bermuda Niaga Sdn Bhd showroom at Lot 8249, Jalan 222, Petaling Jaya. The showroom is open from 9am to 6pm on Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Sundays.
