ETCM Announces X-Trail Facelift – New Hybrid Variant Added

Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has opened bookings for the Nissan X-Trail facelift range, now with a hybrid variant added to the line-up.

The new hybrid variant of the updated X-Trail features a 2.0-litre petrol engine that does 144 PS and 200 Nm, mated to an electric motor that contributes another 41 PS and 160 Nm. According to ETCM, the X-Trail Hybrid is able to return a fuel consumption of 16.1 km/l under the UNECE R101 test cycle and all variants of the updated X-Trail are EEV certified.

The regular petrol-powered variants of the X-Trail come with either a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that does 144 PS and 200 Nm or a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 171 PS and 233 Nm. All engines are mated to a CVT-type automatic.

Joining the new hybrid variant are the regular petrol-powered X-Trail models with carried over powertrains:

  • 2.0L 2WD
  • 2.0L 2WD Mid
  • 2.5L 4WD

Starting with the 2.0L 2WD, updates include:

  • New V-Motion front grille
  • Revised headlights with LED DRLs
  • Revised LED taillights
  • 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display
  • Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
  • Flat-bottomed steering wheel
  • Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold
  • 4 SRS airbags

Moving up to the 2.0L 2WD Mid variant, these equipment have been added:

  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Motion-activated power tailgate
  • 6 SRS airbags

As for the 2.5L 4WD variant, it gets these additional features:

  • Intelligent Forward Collision Warning
  • Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking
  • Intelligent Cruise Control
  • Intelligent All-Wheel Drive with Auto and Lock modes
  • High Beam Assist

Last but certainly not the least is the X-Trail Hybrid. This variant gets all the equipment of the 2.5L 4WD, except the third-row seats, making the hybrid variant strictly a five-seater model.

In terms of pricing, the range of the new X-Trail is expected to be priced as below:

  • 2.0L 2WD – RM 139,900
  • 2.0L 2WD Mid – RM 149,900
  • 2.5L 4WD – RM 159,900
  • 2.0 Hybrid – RM 169,900

All prices are on-the-road, without insurance. The updated X-Trail range is backed by a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, which includes the hybrid parts and lithium-ion battery.

In conjunction with the launch, the new Nissan X-Trail also comes with a free 2-year or 40,000 km (whichever comes first) Periodic Maintenance Service package. Additionally, the first 500 registered vehicles will also receive an exclusive gift worth RM 488.

Deliveries are scheduled to start in April 2019.
