Berita KeretaContinental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTM) has officially launched its new range Generation 3 truck tyres, consisting of the Conti Hybrid HS3, Conti Hybrid HT3, and ContiUrban HA3. Each tyre model is designed specifically for use with different axles and developed with the uniquely harsh conditions of Asian roads in mind.
“Continental’s new Generation 3 represents a milestone in the premium segment of commercial vehicle tyres. With an impressive 20% increase in mileage performance and up to 6% improved fuel efficiency, the new Conti Hybrid 22.5 sets the standard for cost effectiveness in the truck tyre industry. The Conti Hybrid HS3 is a steer axle tyre featuring improved casing and greater steel cord strength for better retreadability. The new and straight outer grooves is also claimed to provide more precise steering feedback while the stone ejection feature and heat endurance have been supposedly improved from the previous generation tyre.

The HT3, meanwhile, is a tyre designed for the trailer axle with its tread pattern improved to allow for optimum wear and tear. This tyre is also designed to allow multiple-times retreading. It is meant for us in the same conditions and vehicles as the HS3.
For city use, Continental has the Conti Urban UA3 designed for use by buses tackling narrow streets, curbs, and stop-and-go traffic. Its dedicated urban tread compound and greater tread width is claimed to deliver as much as 20 percent longer mileage and 2 percent better fuel consumption than its predecessor tyre. Furthermore, its wider tread ribs and high-density interlocking stripes is claimed provide better wet weather grip.
Also introduced at the same time but part of a separate line of products was the HDR2+ tyre designed for regional and long-distance users, especially for goods delivery. Thanks to its advanced tread design and the specialized wear resistant compound, Continental claims that the HDR2+ drive axle tyre delivers 25% more mileage compared to its predecessor, the HDR1.
Continental is offering these Generation 3 products in all popular sizes used in these segments. The Conti Hybrid HS3 steer axle tyre is available in the size of 295/80R22.5 while the Conti Hybrid HT3 trailer axle tyre is available in size of 11R22.5.
