BMW X2 M35i Makes Malaysian Debut, 306 hp, Estimated Price RM400,000

BMW Malaysia has just announced the addition of a new range-topping variant to the X2 lineup – the X2 M35i.

Built in BMW's Regensburg plant in Germany alongside the X1, the estimated price of the X2 M35i stands at RM400,000.

Powering the X2 M35i is BMW’s most powerful version of the 2-litre TwinPower Turbo transverse engine, producing 306 hp and 450 Nm of torque which is paired to an M Performance-tuned 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and BMW’s intelligent xDrive AWD system.

Thanks to the powertrain package, the X2 M35i is able to sprint from zero to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds, with a combined fuel consumption of 7.4l/100km.

The M35i variant complements the X2 sDrive20i (RM328,800, launched in March 2018), which is powered by a transverse 2.0-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder petrol engine and a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox that sends 192 hp and 280 Nm to the front wheels.

The X2 M35i also gets M Sport adaptive suspension with two manually adjustable modes, an M Sport differential, revised steering tuning, bigger brake discs, and redesigned front air intakes.

On the exterior, unique features include Cerium Grey kidney grilles, side air intakes, wing mirrors, an M rear spoiler, M Sport twin exhaust system, and 20-inch M Sport light alloy wheels.  

Inside, the X2 M35i is fitted with sports leather seats, an M Sport leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, “M35i” lettering on the inside of the front doors, Harman Kardon 12-Speaker sound system, as well as the Navigation Plus system with an 8.8-inch touch sensitive control display.  

Colour offerings for the New BMW X2 M35i include Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Galvanic Gold, Misano Blue and Sunset Orange. Inside, owners have a choice of Black Dakota leather upholstery with Black perforations or Magma Red with Grey-Highlighted perforations.
