All-New Toyota Hiace Debuts In Thailand
Berita KeretaSince its debut back in February, Toyota has been gradually rolling out its all-new Hiace, with Thailand being the latest recipient of the new van.
For the Thailand market, the new model is available with two roof configurations – a low roof version called the Hiace and a tall roof version called the Commuter. The Hiace is available as a 12-seater GL or a cargo-oriented Panel variant. As for the Commuter, it is purely a people-mover, capable of sitting up to 11 with ease.
Both versions of the Hiace are powered by a 2.8-litre turbodiesel that outputs 177 PS and 420 Nm, mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic, the latter offered solely on the Commuter.
Safety equipment includes three airbags, ABS, VSC, TRC, Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), and Brake Assist. Unlike the Australian market Hiace (which is called the Granvia there), the Thai market model does not get Active Cruise Control or Toyota’s Pre-Collision Safety System.
The Hiace Panel van is priced at THB 999,000, while the Hiace GL costs THB 1.079 million. As for the Commuter, this model is priced at THB 1.269 million for the manual and THB 1.299 million for the automatic.
