All-New Third-Generation Kia Picanto Previewed For Malaysia

During a Naza Kia event down in Johor, we were treated to a preview of the all-new third generation Kia Picanto, in GT trim. The third-generation Picanto was unveiled at the Geneva motorshow earlier in the year. 

Painted in a loud shade of yellow, this third-generation Picanto represents an iterative step forward from the previous generation, and is completely new underneath despite its fairly similar looks.

It's wise to note that the specifications shown in this model may not be the one we get. The sunroof and large entertainment head unit, for example, are probably things that won't make it into our local specification Picantos.

For now, it would be wise to assume that the Picanto we receive will have the same powertrain options as before (powered solely by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated motor)- and it's possible that they may drop the manual variant from the lineup for our market. Naza Kia has no firm launch date yet, but it is expected to be on sale by Q2 or Q3 of 2018.
