All-New G29 BMW Z4 Previewed For Malaysia, Tentatively Priced From RM460k

Alongside the all-new G20 BMW 3 Series, BMW Malaysia surprised the crowd today by previewing the all-new G29 BMW Z4.

The unit previewed here is the range-topping M40i variant, powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six petrol engine good for 340 hp and 500 Nm. 

However, BMW Malaysia will only be offering the sDrive30i variant of the Z4, powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that does 258 hp and 400 Nm. However, BMW Malaysia will be more than happy to accommodate buyers that are keen to get the M40i variant of the Z4, special orders can be arranged, price upon application. 

Built on the same CLAR platform as several recent BMW models, the all-new G29 Z4 has a lot in common with the all-new A90 Toyota Supra, down to the same 3.0-litre straight-six engine.

This Black Sapphire example is a pre-production sample, which explains the missing BMW emblem on the steering wheel. When the BMW Z4 officially goes on sale in May, the steering wheel will be on the correct side and the emblem will be present.

The all-new BMW Z4 is expected to feature these equipment:

• M Sport suspension
• Variable sport steering
• BMW Digital Key
• Qi Wireless Charging
• Intelligent Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant

Four exterior body colours are available with the all-new Z4, including:

• Alpine White
• Black Sapphire
• Francisco Red
• Misano Blue

Further customization options include three interior colours - Black décor with Black stitching, Magma Red with Black stitching, or Cognac with Black stitching.

In terms of pricing, the all-new G29 Z4 is expected to carry a starting price of RM 460,000 for the sDrive30i variant.
