All-New Aston Martin Vantage Launched In Malaysia – 4.0L V8 Bi-turbo, From RM1.6 Million

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur today unveiled the latest addition to its portfolio, the all-new Vantage.

Priced from RM1.6 million after duties, the all-new Aston Martin Vantage continues on nearly seven decades of tradition- this time packing a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 510 PS and 685 Nm of torque.

The engine, which is sourced from AMG, is the same unit which powers most Mercedes-AMG models at the moment, but the tuning is done in-house by Aston Martin, hence the different power figures. 

Paired to the engine is a ZF trans-axle 8-speed automatic gearbox which is coupled with Aston Martin's Electronic Rear Differential (E-Diff).

Thanks to the powertrain package, the new Aston Martin Vantage is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 314 km/h.

Underneath, the chassis shares a basic aluminium backbone with that of the DB11, although 70% of the elements are unique to the Vantage. Advances in suspension technology and manufacturing have allowed the rear sub-frame to be solid mounted for better response.

Weighing 1,530 kg, key exterior features of the new Vantage include a front splitter which directs air flow underneath the car to be cooled, side gills which have been integrated into the body surface, a pronounced upswept rear deck lid, full LED lights with lock/unlock graphic theatre, extruded bonded aluminium body, and 20-inch ‘Y’ spoke wheels.

Speaking at the launch, Nancy Chen, the head of Aston Martin’s sales operations in Southeast Asia said, “The new Vantage is part of Aston Martin’s Second Century Plan. It is the second of seven new models which the brand planned to launch in seven years."
