All-New 2017 Honda CR-V Bookings Open; 1.5 Turbo, Advanced Sensing Technologies

Berita Kereta

After months of anticipation, Honda Malaysia has finally decided to open bookings for the all-new Honda CR-V. It will be making its way to all 91 showrooms nationwide, and customers are invited to place early booking fees on the car from today onwards if they wish to grab one quick. Given Honda's track records with their products, their booking list can grow rapidly- so if you really are interested in the CR-V, get your name down quickly.

The all new CR-V has plenty of new technology that comes with it, and what's interesting to note is that the variant coming to Malaysia doesn't follow the specifications of our neighbours up north. Honda Malaysia is keen to highlight the SENSING safety and driver-assistance technologies that will be made available with this coming CR-V, adding features that were previously usually exclusive to continental cars.

The technologies include everything from radar-based Active Cruise Control to Frontal Collision Deterrence. There is also Side Collision Deterrence, which effectively functions by helping you to stay in your lane and even steering you back on course if it detects you wandering.

All of these systems help to make the drive more convenient and safer at the same time. The Active Cruise Control system combines Adaptive Cruise Control, which allows drivers to set a preferred speed and automatically slows the car down if there is slower moving traffic ahead, and the Low Speed Follow system, which functions exceptionally well in slow moving traffic and can maintain distance with the car in front, bringing the car to a stop if needed. Together, these two systems help to reduce the effort required on anything from a trip outstation to the daily commute.

For the Frontal Collision Deterrence, this system is similar to the City Safety features you may find on European cars. It will first warn the driver with the Forward Collision Warning system, and if there is a risk of a collision the Collision Mitigation Braking System will apply the brakes to reduce speed in order to prevent an accident or to reduce potential damage. The system operates through the use of both radar and a camera to constantly scan for potential threats.

In addition to this, the all-new Honda CR-V will have the 1.5-litre VTEC turbo powertrain made available as one of the variants, paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission. Power is up to 193 PS at 5,600 rpm, while torque is a solid 243 Nm from 2,000 rpm to 5,000 rpm. The all-new CR-V is also a little bigger than its predecessor as you would expect, but it maintains that maneuverable feeling that its predecessors managed to achieve.

Customers can get a firsthand look at the all-new CR-V at roadshows following this schedule:
