All-New 2015 Peugeot 308 THP Previewed At Bangsar Shopping Centre
Panduan PembeliThe all-new 2015 Peugeot 308 THP is now open for bookings with an estimated price of RM135,000 but if you have yet to view the car in the metal, fret not because the C-segment hatchback is currently being previewed at Bangsar Shopping Centre. And we went there to take some live photos for your viewing pleasure.
Riding on an all-new Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2) from the Peugeot-Citroen Group, the 308 THP certainly looks hugely different from its predecessor, appearing larger and more spacious.
From the front, the new front fascia adopts the styling cues of the brand’s more recent introductions like the 508. Notable features include automatic LED headlights (with daytime-running lights) and wraparound rear tail lights. Around the side, 18-inch alloys are seen along with side mirrors with turn signal indicators built-in. A view from the top reveals the large panoramic roof with electric blinds for when you need to see more of the sun.
Inside, the new i-Cockpit cabin is the main highlight with the reduced diameter steering wheel (with on-wheel controls) and high-rise instruments. The front and rear seats are upholstered in Alcantara located at the centre with leather supports on the sides leading up to the headrests. Everywhere else consists of soft-touch materials with chrome-painted pieces of trim.
On the centre console is where you’ll find the push-start button and just beneath it is the electronic parking brake. Controls for the infotainment, air-conditioning, and other settings are handled by a 9.7-inch HD touchscreen display. With Android and iPhone connectivity, the unit is also capable of playing back music through a Arkamys 3D Sound system.
As for boot space, you have 470 litres at your disposal if everything is left at its original position (including the interior boot lid). Fold the rear seats down and remove it however, this expands cargo capacity up to 1,309 litres.
Powering the all-new 308 THP is a 1.6-litre twin-scroll Turbo High Pressure (THP) engine part to the brand’s new Efficient AT6 six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Power figures are 152PS @ 5,000 rpm and 240 Nm torque from 1,450 rpm. Claimed fuel economy figures on the EU combined driving cycle is 15.38km per litre.
We have yet to receive a confirmed launch date for the all-new 2015 Peugeot 308 THP but if you’re curious about the car, head on over to Bangsar Shopping Centre or scroll through our full gallery here.
