Utama Berita Panduan Pembeli All-New 2015 Mitsubishi Triton Launched In Malaysia: From RM70k to RM112k All-New 2015 Mitsubishi Triton Launched In Malaysia: From RM70k to RM112k Panduan Pembeli Chris Aaron | October 21, 2020 02:39 PM Finally, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has officially launched the all-new 2015 Mitsubishi Triton in Malaysia. It’s been a long time coming: with MMM gradually unveiling its all-new pick-up rather gradually on our shores, starting with a website tease, a showroom appearance, and a full on roadshow tour, since the model’s global debut in Thailand. Today, we can confirm further details with you of the local-spec car, like its confirmed price list for one, amongst other specifics surrounding each variant’s features and equipment. First up, here’s a look at the confirmed prices (OTR with insurance + GST): 2015 Mitsubishi Triton VGT Adventure (5AT): RM111,600 2015 Mitsubishi Triton VGT (5AT): RM101,600 2015 Mitsubishi Triton VGT (5MT): RM95,000 2015 Mitsubishi Triton (5MT): RM85,800 2015 Mitsubishi Triton Quest (5MT – formerly Triton Lite): RM69,800 Buyer’s Guide: Fully imported from Thailand (CBU), the all-new 2015 Mitsubishi Triton comes to Malaysia at a time when the “lifestyle” pick-up truck market is sizzling hot with competition - the all-new Triton itself has received up to 2,000 bookings since April 1 when bookings opened. We’ve seen the Isuzu D-Max offered in all kinds of new “lifestyle” versions like the D-Max Artic and D-Max Diablo, which effectively maintain their robust pick-up truck underpinnings, but feature more ‘sedan-esque’ equipment. The all-new Triton here appears to be more sedan-like than we’ve ever seen any pick-up become, even adopting paddle shifters in the process – and no, we still aren’t over the availability of this from a full-on 4x4 pick-up truck. The new Triton Quest at RM69,800 still makes this one of the most affordable double-cab pick-ups (the only form of the Triton) in the local market. Performance: Sticking with the tried and tested, the all-new Triton will continue to feature its 2.5-litre DI-D Hyper Common Rail DOHC turbo-diesel engine (albeit an improved version), implemented across the five available variants. Resulting power for the range-topping VGT variants are 178PS and 400Nm of torque (improved from the previous 2.5-litre's 350Nm), while the non-VGT Triton 5 MT 4x4 delivers 136PS and 324Nm of torque. The Triton Quest, without the intercooler option, offers 110PS and 200Nm of torque. Depending on which variant you choose, there’s either a five-speed manual or a five-speed torque converter automatic transmission to choose from. Mitsubishi's part-time 4WD with Hybrid Limited Slip Differential (LSD) is also limited to just the VGT variants, while the Triton 5MT 4x4 gets a part-time 4x4 system. The Quest is remained as a 4x2. One of the many highlights of the all-new Mitsubishi Triton is its lauded best-in-class 5.9m turning circle for the 4x4, while the 4x2 variant boasts a 5.7m radius. Exterior Styling: Around the front is where you’ll probably notice the biggest changes to the Triton. The chrome grille is available on all Triton variants but the base Triton Quest. Expectedly, it’s only the highest-spec Triton Adventure that gets all the bells and whistles, particularly the Xenon HID projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights and 17-inch alloy wheels - we've made a clearer list of features below. Other exterior highlights such as front fog lamps is limited only to the Triton VGT variants, with the rear-step bumper extended to all variants but the Quest. It’s also only the Quest that rides on 15-inch alloys, while the rest (minus the Adventure) get 16-inchers. Around the back, the taillights are new, and if you’ll look to where the tailgate release latch is, you’ll also spot the rear-view camera – again, this is a feature limited to the Adventure only. The rear cargo bed measures identically to the previous gen’s floor, but has been lowered/ deepened to offer easier cargo loading. Interior Design: Inside, while MMM dangles lots of “first-in-class” stickers about for many of its features, its biggest development in our minds stem for the improved cabin space created here. Shoulder and legroom have been increased by 20 and 10mm respectively for all inside, while front passengers benefit from a further 5mm increase in headroom. To better enjoy the newfound space and creature comforts, Mitsubishi has also improved driving comfort by bettering the noise insulation, installed better cushioning materials in the seats. Features & Equipment: Where features and equipment is concerned, the specs add up like this (each adding on to the previous variant’s features): Triton Quest Single-DIN Audio System with AUX & USB Connectivity head unit Manual air conditioning Fabric seats Three-spoke urethane-wrapped steering Multi-info display (MID) screen Four speaker audio 15-inch alloy wheels Halogen headlamps Black plastic radiator grille Triton M/T 4x4 Tilt and telescopic steering wheel Easy Select 4WD with Shift-on-the-Fly Rear step bumper 16-inch alloy wheels Chrome radiator grille Triton VGT M/T 4x4 Front fog lamps Chrome wing mirrors, power adjustable and fold with side turn lamp Auto climate control Keyless entry Engine push-start button Seven-inch touch-screen audio system with Bluetooth, iPod & USB Leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls Triton VGT A/T 4x4 Easy Select 4WD with Shift-on-the-Fly + 4WD Selector dial Triton VGT Adventure A/T 4x4 Auto, Xenon HID projector headlamps Daytime running lights 17-inch alloy wheels Dual-zone climate control Reverse camera Leather seats Three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel with Hands free & Voice control buttons Paddle shifters Cruise control Safety Features: On par with its segment rivals, the Mitsubishi Triton offers dual front airbags as standard. It is also equipped with ABS, EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors and a high-mounted stop lamp. A reverse camera is reserved only for the top-spec Adventure variant, while reverse sensors are available for all VGT-equipped variants. Other information: A total of six body colours are available for the Mitsubishi Triton: Earth Green and Red Solid are limited to the top-spec Adventure, but there are also Pearl White, Shadow Black (All VGT), Sterling Silver (VGT AT, VGT MT, MT & Quest) and White Solid (MT & Quest only) available for the remaining variants. Included in the prices of the all-new Triton is Mitsubishi's three-year or 100,000km (whichever comes first) warranty.
