A Fitting Homage to Austin-Healey from Frederique Constant

Born as a joint venture between the Austin division of BMC and the Donald Healey Motor Company, the Austin-Healey name many not have lived very long, but in the two decades of the sports car maker’s existence, it has produced some truly iconic cars that continue to enthral enthusiasts today. As a tribute to the Austin-Healey name, Frederique Constant has presented a new addition to their Vintage Rally Collection, the Healey Chronograph Automatic.

In following the Swiss manufacture’s reputation of producing unique and classical watches, the Healey Chronograph Automatic carries plenty of classical cues that combines timeless contemporary design with sporty elegance. Its classically sized 42mm case of stainless steel case features an exquisitely finished guilloché decorated dial, which sports green accents that lend it a strong sporting character and forges the link to Austin-Healey’s roots in British motorsports. Underlying the main dial are sub-dials that include a 30-minute counter and small continuous seconds dial. Drawing inspiration from the classical styling of sports car of the era, the leather strap with big holes that add to the watches’ sport and elegant styling. The hands and applied indexes on the other hand are finished with SuperLuminova to give it eligibility in the dark, whereas its FC-397 automatic chronograph calibre, lends this classical timepiece a 46-hour power reserve.

Available in two versions, the Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph Automatic comes in two versions. The first of which comes finished with a rose-gold plated case that features a dark green dial with applied rose gold plated hands and indexes and complemented by a brown racing leather strap. The other features an eye-catching silvered dial with applied silvered hands and indexes, and fitted with a black racing leather strap. Frederique Constant would be limiting these two versions of the Vintage Rally Healey Chronograph Automatic to 2888 pieces each.
