2023 Kia Sorento officially launched - from RM211,498
Berita KeretaGet ready to bring the whole family on a road trip, as the wait is over for the all-new 6 and 7-seater SUV by Kia.
The new Kia Sorento created buzz when it was previewed in January this year. Today, Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd officially launched the SUV in its fourth generation.
Consumers get to pick between 3 variants and 2 powertrains. The 7-seater 2WD (RM211,498.40) and the 6-seater AWD (RM235,498.40), comes with the 2.5L petrol engine paired with a 6-Speed Automatic transmission. Another 6-seater AWD (RM255,228.80) comes with the 2.2L diesel engine mated with Kia’s new 8-speed double-clutch transmission (8DCT). The petrol engine is able to produce up to 177hp and 232Nm of torque, while the diesel engine packs a punch with 199hp and 440Nm of torque.
Exterior embracing the "refined boldness" concept
At the front of the car, the Sorento boasts a wider ‘tiger nose’ grille, which is a hallmark of Kia's design language. The grille elegantly wraps around the headlamps, which are the new ‘tiger eyeline’ LED daytime-running lights.
One of the most striking changes to the Sorento's exterior is its shortened front and rear overhangs and longer wheelbase, adding length to its appearance. This creates a more dynamic and athletic stance that is sure to turn heads on the road. Overall, the refined boldness design concept of the new Sorento has resulted in a more sculpted and tougher looking Sorento than its predecessors.
Premium interior offerings
As expected in a Sorento, its spaciousness and versatility are retained, while equipped with premium materials and cutting-edge infotainment. Its fourth-generation design boasts metallic trims, leather upholstery, and embossed wood-effect surfaces.
Interior offerings for the range-topping model include premium leather upholstery, 12.3-inch digital driver cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, Bose surround sound system, wireless phone charger, just to name a few. The more affordable option of the SUV comes with fabric seats, analogue dials for the multi-info display and 18-inch rims instead of 19-inch ones.
